GMAT/GRE Waiver

Eligibility to Request Waiver

Prospective Master of Accountancy students who meet certain requirements may be eligible to receive a testing waiver. However, it is not guaranteed that a waiver will be granted. To be eligible to request a GMAT/GRE waiver, candidates must fully satisfy the following requirements:

  • 3.0 (or higher) undergraduate GPA (UGPA)
  • 3.0 (or higher) GPA in 3000 and 4000 accounting level courses
  • To be considered for a waiver, the three recommendations included in your admission application must come from upper-level accounting professors.

APPLYING FOR A GMAT/GRE WAIVER

To apply for the GMAT/GRE waiver, candidates will need to complete a two-part process:

  1. Complete the GMAT/GRE Waiver form.
  2. Create a Master of Accountancy application via the UNC Charlotte Graduate School's online application portal. You will need to submit your completed application (omitting the testing section).

After you’ve submitted your application, the program will pull your file for review and let you know of our decision. All GMAT/GRE waivers are at the discretion of the Master of Accountancy Graduate Program Director. If candidates are unable to secure the GMAT/GRE waiver, they will be required to submit official GMAT/GRE test scores in their Master of Accountancy application. If you have any questions about the waiver process, please contact Kaylie Scanlon.
