GMAT/GRE Waiver

The UNC Charlotte Belk College of Business is committed to our community, including future students. Due to the impacts of COVID-19, the Master of Accountancy has waived the GMAT/GRE test requirement for Summer and Fall 2020 graduate program admissions.

Eligibility to Request Waiver

Prospective Master of Accountancy students who meet certain requirements may be eligible to request a testing waiver. To be eligible to request a GMAT/GRE waiver, candidates must fully satisfy the requirements of one of the following options:

UNC Charlotte Accounting Undergraduate Students

  • 3.0 (or higher) undergraduate GPA (UGPA)
  • 3.0 (or higher) GPA in 3000 and 4000 accounting level courses
  • Must provide three recommendations from 3000 and/or 4000 accounting professors

General Applicants

  • 3.0 (or higher) undergraduate GPA (UGPA)
  • Strong performance in quantitative coursework
  • Three recommendations from quantitative coursework faculty

APPLYING FOR A GMAT/GRE WAIVER

To apply for the GMAT/GRE waiver, candidates will need to complete a two-part process:

  1. Complete the GMAT/GRE Waiver form.
  2. Create a Master of Accountancy application via the UNC Charlotte Graduate School's online application portal. You will need to submit your completed application (omitting the testing section).

After you’ve submitted your application, the program will pull your file for review and let you know of our decision. All GMAT/GRE waivers are at the discretion of the Master of Accountancy Graduate Program Director. If candidates are unable to secure the GMAT/GRE waiver, they will be required to submit official GMAT/GRE test scores in their Master of Accountancy application.
