UNC Charlotte is named among the best in the nation for the Belk College of Business’ Master of Accountancy (MACC) program and Master of Science in Economics in the 2018 TFE Times Rankings.

The MACC program placed at No. 40 in this year’s “Best Master of Accounting Program” list, and the M.S. in Economics landed at No. 59 in the “Best Master of Economics” ranking. These rankings continue both programs’ growth, with the MACC and M.S. in Economics rising from No. 42 and No. 61, respectively.

TFE Times ranked the Belk College of Business’ programs among some of the most competitive schools in America. The MACC ranked among the top 20% of all programs, ahead of schools such as Clemson University, Virginia Tech and Syracuse University. Among the schools ranked for Economics, the Belk College M.S. in Economics surpassed institutions such as University of South Carolina and Temple University. In 2018, TFE Times also gave UNC Charlotte’s M.S. in Mathematical Finance top billing at No. 16 in the nation.

“These ranking reflect the relevance of our curriculum, the quality of our faculty, and most importantly, the success of our graduates. We’re proud of our students, faculty and alumni of these recognized programs,” said Dr. Dolly King, Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Programs in the Belk College of Business.

Graduates of the MACC program at UNC Charlotte are top performers on the CPA exam with a 91% CPA pass rate–well above the national average of 54.4 percent. The Master of Accountancy degree is designed to strengthen the technical competency of students in specialized accounting fields including tax and financial accounting/auditing. Students are heavily recruited by Charlotte-area public and private accounting firms and financial institutions, and alumni report a 95% employment rate after graduation.

UNC Charlotte’s M.S. in Economics graduates are in demand. The program has a strong track record of placing graduates in Fortune 500 firms, PhD programs, and government jobs with an average salary increase of $31,000. With four concentrations, the program combines economic analysis with advanced quantitative methods to prepare students for analytical and management positions in a variety of industries.
